FAQs

What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?

Life coaching is based on viewing both parties (coach and client) as naturally creative, resourceful and whole and through out the process there is no diagnoses or treatment., while therapy more apt to view clients from a medical model and it includes diagnoses and treatment. Therapy by definition assumes that there is something wrong with the client, whereas life coaching regards each client as whole.

Life coaching focuses on evolving and manifesting potential, and therapy focuses on healing and understanding.

Life coaching emphasises on present and future, therapy emphasises on past and present.

Life coaching  regards and coaches negative self-beliefs as Saboteures (temporary obstacles), while therapy analyzes origins and historical roots of negative self-beliefs.
Coaches and clients ask: “What’s next?/What now?”, Therapists and clients ask: “Why and from where?”

Does life coaching take the form of sessions? How is it done?

In life coaching, the coach starts with the client with a “Discovery Session” where the coach gets to know all he/she needs to know about the client and they both design their alliance to strengthen their relationship.
After that, the session will be designed  on a monthly basis (weekly sessions) and for a minimum of three months (that is the minimum to allow the client to see the results he/she needs to achieve).

After the period of three months, its up to them, whether to stop, or to continue.
Payments will be agreed upon at the discovery session and included in the Coaching Agreement which will be signed by both parties (coach and client), and will be paid in advance on a monthly basis.

Why should I use a Life Coach?

The urge for change often does not last long enough for you to follow through - the motivation seems to come and then go. On your own, in the short-term, it's easier for your life to remain the same, rather than do anything about it. But what about the long-term? How many times will you have had the urge to change, but not done anything about it? What will the cost be to you in 5, 10, or 20 years if you're still the same and nothing has changed? Will you wish you'd started now?

Ask yourself this question - Why do I complain, but still remain the same?

I think the problem is that we often follow the path of least resistance. We take the easy option, and live at the comfort zone covered with the illusion of security. This is fine in some cases, even the perfect choice in others.
But you see when it comes to the long-term happiness of you and your family – your own fulfilled life, don't you think it would be worth a little short-term effort, commitment and action?

The good thing with Life Coaching is that once you decide to change, your Life Coach will hold you accountable, encourage you and gently push you on; so then the path of least resistance is to follow through and do what is required to succeed.
